I have a soundblaster live! value, which says that is has an spdif connector on the back, however it seems to be a mini-stereo plug. How can I connect this to my new dts receiver? Links to actual products would be very helpful. Thanks.

You will have to buy an adapter. I believe it’s called a mono 1/8” to phono adapter. My local Radio Shack sells it.

With it you’ll be able to connect a standard RCA interconnect to your soundcard.

BTW – Just a word of warning:
I have found the spdif-out on some SoundBlaster cards to be unreliable. It is common to experience audio dropout on some cards. Others people have said they work perfectly – but that’s not been the case for me.

Enjoy

Yes you can use a standard RCA cable.

Just make sure it’s 75-Ohm and has good shielding.
