Got a Yamaha CA-610 II vintage integrated amp off ebay. This particular model is supposed to be 50wpc.

After opening the box, I hooked up two small Axiom Mzeros (125 watts max speakers), and used a iRiver SlimX as the source.

First off, a lot of the switches are dirty...how do I clean them?

Also, some of the dials are a little loose. They turn to select sources and all that, but they jiggle a little. Any way to take it off and put it back in more solidly?

Most importantly: The sound was waaaaay too low for 50 WPC. I had originally hooked up the CD player to "aux", and then switched it to 'tape 1' and it got louder after that, but I can still easily put the volume dial to max without getting especially loud.

Also there's some crackling when I turn the dial sometimes.

Should I try hooking them up to "speaker B" or something?
