Any suggestions on how to make IR stickers reattach to new components without degrading the signal or making the seal permanent? I've played with so many configurations that the poor things can't hang on anymore. I tried double sided (semi?) transparent tape, but no good....

Try double sided sticky scotch tape. If that doesn't work, just use regular scotch tape over it to hold in place. I need to do that with my DVD player.

Could try just a thin smear of Elmer's glue. Dries clear and doesn't have a strong of a hold. They also make a children's version that is made to clean up easy and not hold as strong as regular glue.
