I'm making a headphone extension cord of about 15ft.
The headphone that i will be using with the extension cord is a standard panasonic walkman type headphone.
What wire gauge would you suggest?
Thank you.

about 22 strand or braided gauge. That is typically the gauge of the existing headphone wire. 20 or 24 will also work. Do not use solid wire. In a headphone application, the wire can potentially break.

Why not buy a premade headphone cable? They appear to be less than $2. I don't think you could buy the components for that price. Also you should buy whatever other cables you need to defray shipping costs. Buy two headphone cables in case you break one. You can always use an extra HDMI or optical cable for the prices at monoprice.com. See site below.
