Behringer has good stuff at fair prices. If it were me, I would probably get the the Pro 8 if I wanted toy factor, but the mini amp if I was being practical..

*However*About five or six years ago I bought a Corda Head amp for around $350. It's a very nice piece of equipment, but does not sound any better than the headphone outs on various receivers. That said, if you want a good headphone amp that is a very well made, fine piece of equipment coupled together with pride of ownership, Corda is the way to go IMO. The Corda I have has to two outputs, a 120 ohm one and a 0 ohm one. Let me know how you fair.

PS, I would not go near headphone dot com. More snake oil that good information about products they sell IMO.

Cool

That second Behringer is in the right pricerange (120 dollar one); but its not for studio use, so i dont need 4 or 8 channels; i'd rather be paying for a higher quality single channel, its just going to sit on my desk. So i'd rather not have something thats ment to be screwed into a rack, coz of its unpratical shape. That Corda model looks more like what im after, but they seem a little pricey. Do you have any more suggestions with this more refined criteria? Thanks alot for your help.

I am not up on what's new on the market. A Behringer is made for studio use but will work as well any other at home. If it's a cosmetics issue then you could go the head-fi forum and check out what's new. Be aware that a large number posts on head-fi are nonsense.
