Getting most out of my Chromecast

Hello all!

I've been using my Chromecast for most of my media these days. I have it plugged in directly to my TV's HDMI input and the sound is RCA (fixed) from TV to my stereo, analog-only receiver. When I use my laptop with my Dragonfly the sound is much better (which would make sense). I essentially want similar audible results with my Chromecast as I get with my Dragonfly.

As an aside: I am in the market to upgrade my amp from my 40wpc Harmon Kardon Stereo receiver to something that has more juice and an on-board DAC. I feel like I'm under-powering my speakers (Pioneer SP-FS52-LR Andrew Jones). I want to keep it simple as I prefer Stereo with possibly adding a sub down the road.

So, I could go digital-out to an integrated amplifier with built-in DAC with something like the Yamaha S-501 or the Onkyo 9050.

OR, Bypass my TV all together by plugging my Chromecast into an AV Receiver like the Denon X1100W or similar.

Thoughts?
