Haven't heard of this. Googled it. Found a reference to a Craigslist ad providing more info:

VMPS Larger Subwoofer in light oak.

This sub has 15" and 12" active drivers along with a down-firing 15" passive radiator.

This subwoofer has all the available upgrades from VMPS. Upgrades are -
- Both active drivers were upgraded to the Magawoofer option.
- The interior walls of the cabinet have Soundcoat applied. Soundcoat is a spray on heavy ceramic coating that dampens vibration of the cabinet.
- Interior wiring upgraded to 12 gauge Monster Cable.

This subwoofer weighs 138 lbs.

Will play down to 17hz for some serious shake that you can feel. NASA's Langley Research Center purchased two Larger VMPS Subwoofers as a source of 118+ dB, 20 Hz tone bursts.

This is a passive subwoofer, meaning there is no built-in amplifier. Each woofer has its own input, so the best way to power it is to use a high current home audio amplifier and use one output per speaker. Or even better (and cheaper) use a pro-audio amplifier.
Manufacturer specs:

Drivers: - 38cm (15") WCF Megawoofer, 30cm (12") WCF Megawoofer, 38cm (15") Passive Radiator
Rec. xover range: - 60 Hz - 250 Hz
Internal wiring: - 12 gauge Monster Cable
Impedance & Sensitivity: - 4 Ohm, 92 dB/1W/1m
Power handling: - 600 W rms / 4 Ohms, 20 W min.
Frequency response: - 17 Hz - 250 Hz +0/-3dB
Dimensions & Weight: - 58H x 81W x 48D cm, 63 kg, (23"H x 32"W x 19"D, 138 lbs)
Output levels and distortion: - max. 0.5% 20 Hz to 250 Hz / 1 W, min. 115 dB SPL / 1m at 20 Hz & 2.5%THD
Finishes: - standard genuine lite oak, dark oak
This page gives a few more details:

6.2 cubic ft box, made of 1" thick mdf, with one 12" poly woofer with rubber surround and one 15" active poly woofer with foam surround, and one mass loaded 15 inch passive radiator tuned to 10 hz, and all internal wiring with 11 gauge monster cable .
@detroit1 Pics might help with sale. And are you located in Detroit, or is that just your online name?

yes located in the Detroit area. I would sell that VMPS or an HSU VTF-3 HO , also an excellent sub. I want to clear space

the VMPS Sub is one of the Best Out there.

some other past info below:

NASA's Langley Research Center has purchased two Larger VMPS Subwoofers as a source of 118+ dB, 20 Hz tone bursts. The Larger Subwoofer was the only commercially available system capable of so doing.
