The Fluance ES1 Floorstanding Pillar Speaker ($450/pr) is a slimline tower that looks great. Fluance is a company we've come to really respect for offering inexpensive good sounding and good looking products. A 5-driver, 2-way speaker system in an aluminum enclosure for $450/pr is certainly compelling. It's interesting that Fluance chose a 2-way design instead of a 2.5 way to help minimize acoustical interference but we wonder if text book theory in this case would have made a difference in audibility. This is something we're just gonna have to find out in an eventual product review.
