hi all i finally got around to getting some pieces together. let me know if any of you have an expeience with the parts assembled,thank you.
pioneer elite sc-27 reciever
magnapan 1.7 speaker
jl audio 10" fathom subwoofer
the rest of the 5.1 system will come together at a later date.

Well, I have maggie 1.6 speakers...

...and they really, really like a lot of power to make them come alive. I've driven them with a Rotel 991 (300 wpc/4 ohms) and a friend is using them on loan and he's using a 200 wpc/8 ohm Emotiva.

...and they are four ohm speakers.

The SC-27 has 140w per channel which is ok for most 8ohm speakers but you have 4ohm'ers and as stated before in above post they like power.I would consider getting a power amp to fully realize the beauty of your system.Just my opinion of course but you have some nice gear and the amp would afford you considerable head room,and that is always a great thing.

ahh i thought since it was thx 2 certified it could push 4 ohm speakers
