I have sony40ES Projector and thinking about getting 150" Elite Screens CineGrey 5D screen. Room size is 19*22*10 dedicated theater room: screen has 1.4 gain and 110 Degree viewing angle.

Any thoughts about the projector screen ??

What is your viewing distance?

How much control do you have over day light?

18'ft away from screen and total control over light. No windows in the room.

@BMXTRIX

You're the pro, will the Sony 40ES light up a 150" screen? Is 1.4 gain appropriate for a totally light controlled room?

This is a good learning opportunity for me, too!

I intend to use the 40ES on a 161" screen if I get the chance. I think it has the brightness and a 1.4 gain screen is what I would use for this to get best results. The lumens claim appears 'low' on paper, but in reality, it comes very close to reaching the claimed brightness, which puts it in the same league as the W1070 from BenQ which is what I am currently using on my 161" screen. So, I expect it would do fine on a 150" screen.

I have seen it in person on a 134" acoustically transparent screen (about .9 gain) and it looks good on that.
