I had an old headset with a 2.5 mm stereo jack and I want to rewire it with a 3.5 mm jack to use with my computer. Though I cut the wire and now I'm confused.

There is a blue wire in a platic coating, red, gold and green wiring as well. The red and gold wiring seems to go into the same spot, but I could be wrong. Where do these wires go?

There are two wires for each earspeaker. If you have a meter there will be a resistance between any two. Those two would be for one speaker. you will have to experiment to make sure you have them phased properly. I believe the tip of the jack is the left channel and the ring is the right. The barrel is a common ground. You may have to do a little experimenting to get everything right.
