component -> composite scan converter

do you guys know of a product that does component -> composite conversion for under $500?

Don't you mean composite to component? I can't imagine why you would want to convert down...

no, i mean component to composite. i am working on a design in which we are doing HDTV component video switching but the onboard 4 inch monitor can only do 480i. therefore, we need to downconvert 1080i component to 480i composite.

Gotta think that it would be cheaper to go with an inexpensive 13" LCD that will accept component. Yes, I feel your pain. I've looked at those dinky (yet very cool) LCDs for rack mounting and their lack of anything more than very basic video handling makes them completely useless in my opinion.

Extron has some stuff, but not likely for under 500.
