watched this last night and have a few questions:
can somebody with background on stock exchange please explain something to me ...

how exactly does the main bad guy lose money from the selling of his shares of stock, when he fails to blow up the plane (to drop the stock prices AFTER his sale)

Touche, I didn't understand that either, but then again I didn't give it serious thought because I was caught up in mindless action.:D

I didn't see the movie and the question seems a little unclear to me. If he was selling short his shares, he could buy them back at a lower price to make money. Selling short is the sale of shares you do not own. You then want the share price to go down so you can purchase them back at a lower price. If the price goes up, you lose money. Instead of buying low and selling high, you are selling high and buying low. Also, things can affect the prices in weird and unexpected ways.

spoiler question no.2

in the torture scene ... he got his b@lls whacked a few times ... a few days later he's already using his 'weapon' I would think that would hurt... A LOT!

can someone explain to me how exactly that torture works?
my interpretation is that his package hangs down (or exposed) through the chair with a hole ... somebody whacks it ... doesnt that equate to: scrambled eggs?

He just hits in in the choda area. The legs will take a fair bit of the blow, so it's not going to crush them.

Was it only a few days after, or a bit longer? He did get the best medical treatment possible?

no mention how long passed in the movie but it had to be just a few days - there being 100 million bucks in his personal account and the british agency itching to get it from him

Come on guys,, it's a Bond film. I loved the movie, but it can't be completely realistic. What, do you want to see a Bond where he's got hepatitis or some STD?

I really liked this film, definitely a little grittier than previous Bonds. For sure, a Bond made for folks older than 17.
