....Hi guys!
I've made this thread:
http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/cambridge-fps1600-volume-control.93366/

You may eliminate it - I've written to much instead of going straight to THE POINT:

DON'T HAVE THE Cambridge FPS1600 Wired Volume Remote (wich conects to the PA - i.e. Subwoofer)

WHERE CAN I GET IT?

I have this schematic for "DTT2200 Cambridge Soundwork" - are they all different or should I ""waste" my time trying it because the "intel" I'm looking for is very hard to get? - (the conector is equal to FPS1600 - exactly like a Mouse/Keyboard PS2 conector)

For DTT2200
having the schematic and since these potentiometers are so easy to find.... you just have to replace them... even so if you don't want to replace it I gave the ewuivalent schematic without it (having volume at 50% and balance at 50/50)....but that's gonna be more troublesome than just replacing the potentiometer - it's only good for those that simply don't have the remote)
For FPS1600 there's no need to have all this trouble it's just to cojnnect (short-circuit pins 3,4 and 6 as showned in image)

....Sorry bro... I think that the solution is not the same - I've started this thread searching for the FPS 1600

MY SOLUTION AFTER "reading" the circuit (no ..I couldn't find a shcematic) FOR THE FPS 1600 was to short circuit pins 3, 4, and 6 of the (female) conector at the subwoofer itself - (i'll place a picture)

this allowed me not to control de volume (of course) but to have the amp working at full (perfect..because like that I only have to control the volume at the input like any computer MP3 etc etc does

here's the pic:

SOLUTION FOR THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE THE REMOTE CONTROL (Volume etc control) FOR THE CAMBRIDGE FPS1600 SoundSystem:

JUST SHOT-CIRCUIT PINS 3, 4, and 6 AT THE SUBWOOFER!

IF THE IMAGES ONCE AGAIN "DIE" AFTER SOME TIME READ THIS (with attention) and you'll be able to know what to do:

These 3,4 and 6 numbers ARE NOT Arbitrary - the conector at the subwoofer is a PS/2 connector so the numbers are from one of those... it follows the link of a Pinouts website refering to a PS/2 Mouse - Ignore the funcions... what matters is the numbers (pinout) wich you can fund at the UPPER-LEFT corner of the page regarding FEMALE PS/2 CONNECTOR: http://pinouts.ru/Inputs/PS2Mouse_pinout.shtml

EVEN SO HERE'S THE SHCEMATIC I've drawed for you guys:
