Hi all
Am a complete novice in music equipments
My setup as follows Sony BDP s590-Denon x3100-Dali zensor 3-Velodyne impact 12.
Now I have planned for schiit modi2uber DAC
Will this benefit my sound improvement?
How can I bypass my bluray's DAC?
Source-from iTunes/WAV file/MP3
Thanks

Don't waste money on that piece of Schiit.

It has no HDMI input. That means you will get the best audio by connecting your BD player to your DENON and having your BD player send bitstream to the Denon.

You could connect to that superfluous device with coax or Toslink SPDIF. However neither of those support Dolby True Digital or DTS Master Audio. So just forget the POS and save your money.

Hi thanks for your inputs
Actually I want to use this for my stereo listening.
Do you recommend for a stereo amp,in that case which will be better option
External DAC or in built DAC amp.

You absolutely do not need an external DAC. If you do then the BD player will send 2 channel PCM over the optical or coax SPDIF to the DAC.

You are much better off sending PCM over HDMI to your Denon for CD listening.

You are just adding an unnecessary unit with an external DAC, that will bring no benefit and add cables.

You're overthinking it a bit. Your Denon will be fine for stereo listening, the dac in the Denon is fine.

How to activate denon's DAC ?
In my BDP analog (red/white) when connected thru this to AVR the sound came down very low and the quality dropped a bit.
Please clarify me connecting thru Rca cable ,which DAC come in action.
To my knowledge thru HDMI- AVR 's DAC
Thru analog-blu Ray's
Am I correct,thanks

Just now I found that BDP has analog support (red/white)

When connected to AVR thru this,

sound went down ,have to rise the volume

Used a normal cable which came with the player (is this the reason?)

*I love to listen thru HDMI.

Just want to find which DAC takes off (AVR/BDP)

Please clarify me while using analog the AVR's DAC comes into play.when using digital(HDMI/optical) BDP 's DAC takes responsibility.

Am I correct

Thanks

You can utilize the Denon's dac by connecting your source to the avr digitally (hdmi, optical or digital coax) and let the Denon handle the transfer to analog. If you use the red/white (composite) rca connections those are analog, and would mean you are using the dac in the player.

Sounds like your player is limited to 2.0 analog (there are players with analog output for each channel, up to 7.1). I'd simply use hdmi and be done with it.

Different types of connection can vary in terms of level; some avrs have an input level adjustment to make the differences between different audio sources more alike.

You bypass the BD dac by sending a digital bitstream to the receiver.
Then you need to set up your receiver to play 2 ch when it gets 2 ch audio from the player.

I am not sure why you would not use a digital out by HDMI cable if the receiver has such an input.
