There are many useful references on acoustics. There are very few useful references that specifically address acoustics in small rooms and, more specifically, acoustics in small rooms for music and movie listening / watching in the home. The
Floyd Toole book mentioned in the above thread is the best place to start, IMO...and it might be the only book you need. I'm only halfway through it myself, but so far it appears to me to be the only book in existence that truly addresses audio reproduction and acoustics specifically from the perspective of home listening in small rooms.
