After reading this thread for the last few weeks, I've kinda lost my train of thought over who I would even nominate as the best female vocalist, except for the fact that two singers do rather stick out in my mind. Sarah McLachlin, and the "old" stuff from Mariah Carey, back before she fired/divorced her manager and started with the collaborative hip hop crap and started dressing link a slut. (not really saying thats a bad thing, but she did look good in a pair of blue jeans) Maybe when I have a long slow night of work, I'll go through the thread and make a tally of what's been suggested and post the results. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.......

Thought I'd resurrect this thread. I just finished reviewing the whole thing and I didn't see the late, great, Sarah Vaughn. Hard to believe she hasn't been mentioned yet! (If she has been mentioned, my apologies)

A couple of more recent great talents, that don't have a huge profile yet:

Jill Barber - http://www.jillbarber.com/

Meaghan Smith - http://www.meaghansmith.com/

If you haven't heard either, check 'em out!

Yeah, I always thought she sounded great too.

Look at those legs!

She smokes herb too, she left her Volcano vaporizer in her kitchen for MTV Cribs (by accident?)

It's at 1:25, top shelf...gotta go to high res to see it clear. Only reason I know it is there is because I saw it on TV and was like "whoa, this chick is awesome!"

Has anyone mentioned Charlotte Church? I heard her sing when she was just a girl and my mouth dropped open, couldn't believe it.
