hi guys,
thanks for your time reading this...
i'm looking for something for my average sized bedroom. all i really ever play is my computer's mp3s and 5.1 surround from my computer's dvd drive. (23 inch flat screen)

i have the infinity TSS-450 5.1 speaker set.

i have a mild genetic hearing loss so top dollar stuff isn't really necessary... plus i'm playing mp3s so double that comment, even though they are all at least 192kbps. (i have a nicer system in the family room)

i don't need AM/FM or all the other auxillary input jacks that most a/v receivers come with.

what do i need and what would you recommend i use to hook my computer up to these infinity speakers to drive them? it's a mac with optical audio.
would like the basics, like dolby, etc.

or am i just better off with a basic a/v receiver with all of this extra common stuff?

thanks

I would suggest the A/V receivers since those are the only ones with optical inputs.
