Hi everyone, great forum you have here!

I am looking to add a entry-level 5 speaker system to my room, however, It is of an awkward shape and I am not sure about the speaker placement, I am looking into buying this set:
Jamo S 426 HCS 3 Speaker System - 5.1 Surround Sound Packages - Audiovisual Online - Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists

The black outer lines are walls, my issue is that my sofa is pressed against the wall, I could slide two floordstanders behind it, but would this be too close to the sofa?
I will presume I should place two either side of the TV, then its the woofer placement.

(I read through the placement guides so I understand the basics, Im just not sure how to adapt to my room spec)

Any help is much appreciated!

By floorstanders, do you mean stands for the surround speakers? In this context, floorstanders usually means floorstanding speakers (like the two L/R mains in your set, which you are correct to presume will go on either side of your tv).

...my issue is that my sofa is pressed against the wall, I could slide two floordstanders behind it, but would this be too close to the sofa?
Do you have a plan for how you will run your speaker wire to the surrounds? You could possibly hang them on the walls that flank your couch. See image below.

First suspect for the sub placement is the corner shown below. You may notice I've scooted things out a bit so the tv, couch, and speakers are all symmetrically aligned. I don't know if that's a real option of not.

Thanks for the reply!

I can run the wires without much problems, so that should be ok.

To clarify, I did mean stands for surround speakers, however I do have two shelves which are about 1 inch above the top of my head when sitting as shown in the diagram with purple, would they be suitable?
