Any Benefit to Component wiring to Rcvr

I'm wondering if there would be any benefit to connecting my Yamaha S2300 to my Yamaha RX-V2400 Receiver via the Component Video ports even though my Monitor (Sony XBR) has only S-Video and Composite inputs.

My thinking is that the better the signal sent to the receiver, the better the signal that can be sent to the monitor. However, I don't want to spend money on cabling that would be superflous. I already have the dvd and receiver connected via Coaxial, Analog 2 & Multichannel and S-Video.

Thanks!

You must use S-video. If you input the receiver with component, you must output with component as well.
