Heres an intersting read that captures what vinyl listening is all about from sharing of music, artwork and sleeves with friends etc. It appears that vinyl is making a blip on the big record producers as well.

This article is not about which format is better/worse or good/bad. Its about sharing the music and information that goes with it. :)

I have a turntable that I keep for both "legacy" reasons (old records) and for audiophile reasons (great sound). While I don't buy all that many vinyl disks, my teen kids have quite a bunch. They like the sound, handling vinyl and all the ceremony that goes with vinyl. Records refuse to die.

I gotta tell ya--I'm super-stoked about the vinyl resurgence. When I first got into hi-fi 15 years ago, everyone was ringing the analog death bell. Now, it's everywhere and everyone one I work with (almost all of us around 30 Y.O.) definitely prefers vinyl for sound and music. Long live da vinyls!
