Acoustic Research subs?

Hey guys i just pull the trigger on a dual 8 inch, 150w sub from Acoustic Research. The model number is PR808. I got for $109 from Accessories 4 less website. Now I was going to get either an Infinity PS-8 sub for $199. It has a 100w amp and a 8" sub. Also i thought about getting the Polk Audio sub that was also $199, but it has a 10" sub and it has an 50 watt amp. Now I did the research and found out that both the Infinity and the Polk Audio subs can play to 35Hz. But the Acoustic research sub plays down to 28hz. is this good or bad?

Does anybody has any info on these subs? I got it on Monday and it is a killer sub!!! The only question is why can i hear the hum of the amp when there is nothing playing through the subwoofer? Is this normal? The reason why I ask is i had an Sony SA-WM40 sub and i never hear it hum.

Sounds like you have a ground loop. There's info on this board regarding how to deal with groundloops.
