Hi, question about replacing my surrounds. First my setup below.

- 2 Polk PSW505 subwoofers
- Fronts RTIA7 Polk Audio
- Polk center CSIA6
- 4 surrounds are Polk OWM3's

2 rows of seating with wall 4 ft behind second row and 9ft from front row

Obviously want to upgrade my 4 surrounds but cannot decide what to buy. I like the direct firing but not sure if I should switch to dipole for sides and bipole for rear surrounds?

Problem is I think the bipole speakers will reflect directly to front row and the null area on the side surrounds will only be good for the front row as they are placed beside that row?

Any suggestions?

For 7.1, I would do monopole surrounds. 7.1 gets into a more precise surround sound stage, and dipoles and bipoles have a deliberately vague sound stage which essentially eliminates the point of both side and rear speakers when you could hardly tell what sound was coming from where.
