hey i've made a previous thread about connection my computer to my receiver (using a simple 3.5mm to the red/white rca cables), and i think i've found a better solution. would i be getting better sound quality if i used the 3.5mm spdif (headphone jack sized output) on my soundcard (creative sb audigy ls) and connected that to the coaxial input on my receiver? if so, would something like this be alright, http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/RCA-mini-spdif.html

thanks

That cable is what you need to connect the digital out on the audigy to the coax digital in on a receiver. You will have to enable digital out on the sound card.

You also want to enable pass-thru on the sound card so that the receiver handles all of the decoding.
