You have heaps of room behind you to go 4 atmos. What would stop you from doing so?
Yes the atmos speakers will be behind the surrounds!
If you can justify the extra cost for 9 channel receiver. Speakers and wire then I would encourage it! I'm going 5.1.4 myself in the future.

You're right! I was confused with bed surround placement. Here's my new 5.1.4 layout. Price jump is quite a bit with 9.2 channel receiver, two extra atmos speakers and wiring.
