Default Resolving Issues With Elemental Designs

Contact was made today with an investigator from the Iowa Attorney General's office who handles consumer complaints.

If you have a legitimate issue with ED such as....

    • long time unfulfilled warranty issues
    • orders that you've paid for but not received in a timely fashion
    • orders that you've paid for but only received a partial shipment and you've been waiting and waiting
    • refunds that you still have not received
    • other reasonable matters, etc.

Please send an email to steve.switzer@iowa.gov and let him know the particulars. That means stuff like what and when you ordered, how much, what you've been told, etc. Keep it factual and leave the emotions out of it.

As it stands right now, ED is a blip on the radar. If only one person complains the usual procedure is for the government to contact ED and ask for a response. This can take time. However, if everyone that is legitimately affected emails him, then quicker and more forceful measures can be undertaken. He (Steve Switzer) has been made aware that ED is delinquent in their business filings with the Iowa Secretary of State. How this impacts matters remains to be seen.

If you also want to summarize your complaint in this thread, while it may be somewhat redundant, it does provide a convenient place. I only ask that just complaints be listed and only once. This will keep it tidy and easy to navigate. If your situation needs to be updated, well that's another story.

Should anyone know other websites where ED has a presence (I doubt they'd let you post this at theirs!), please copy the particulars and make a post there.

    Thanks!

Yes they are nothing but a bunch or scumbags IMO. They have locked their forum so no new users can register, they delete any questions about orders/refunds or lock the thread. All the comments on their facebook page was filled with unhappy customers, those are now deleted with comments disabled.

Yes especially the way eD is trying to hide all of the problems. Not everyone looking to purchase equipment reads AVS, AH or any other forum. They might not even know they exist.

eD also falsely list products as Instock when in fact a few members on AVS and Facebook have been waiting as much as 8 months for those instock items.

eD's trend seems to be that they send out the shipping information to UPS/FedEx but never actually send out the product, seems like a stall tactic to keep buying more time.

Marked up MSRP's, defective subwoofer amps, not answering phones/emails, late orders, unfulfilled orders, not refunding monies, locking forums, deleting forum responses and threads.

The above sounds a lot like AV123 business's practices (minus the charity fraud). IMO this company sounds like it is about to fold or soon will as those business practices are not sustainable.

It takes no more than 15 seconds of online research to realize what kind of severe fraud they are. People who get ripped off are those who buy blind. That's pretty dumb

Three pages in google search before finding something about amp problems, six before finding any mention of delivery troubles via this thread on AVS forums....and with the forehand knowledge to be looking for it.

Regardless, saying people deserved to be ripped off is out of line.
