Default Star Wars Episode I and II DD 5.1EX??

Hello- I have noticed that while my new Star Wars original trilogy dvd's play the DD 5.1 "EX" on my Denon 2200/Yammie 2400, the prequal discs (Episodes I and II, do not play the "EX" despite saying the same thing as the new original trilogy discs. Do I have faulty prequal discs? I did buy both of them on their first day of release. Has anyone else heard of these discs not playing the "EX" information? Thanks!!

Likely the AUTO setting on the receiver not picking up the flag which is encoded on the DVD to tell the receiver that the info contains the EX info. In the manual for my receiver, it says this may happen depending on the software. I ahve not noticed (but haven't looked for) this problem, and I have the same movies you do.

The Carver (1200w mono) or the NAD (1600w mono) run the sub, I switch back and forth.

The Yamaha runs the rest.
