Arrow JVC DLA-HD100 First Look

JVC's latest high-end LCOS projector sports an unprecedented (claimed) native contrast ratio of 30,000:1, an industry first and a number they say is achieved without the use of a dynamic iris. The DLA-HD100 is to be marketed by JVC's consumer group, JVC Company of America and is positioned to complement the recently launched DLA-HD1. The retail price is expected to be around $7999 but for that you get an incredible picture as well as some high-end features like ample lens shift, motorized zoom lens and on-board Gennum VXP processing.

For an anamorphic lens? Yes.

This suggests that it is an option?

The option part is the anamorphic lens - not the stretch capability.

Default Beginner AV Comparing JVC to Runco

I'm looking at the DLA-HD100 as well as a Runco that a custom installer recommends for about $20k. The price difference is obvious. Is there a real difference in the two pictures or is it just marketing?
