Hiding a Plasma Screen

Hi All,

I'm installing a 50" plasma over a fireplace and the client is looking to hide the screen while not in use. I saw the the artwork that goes up and down but are there any other options?

The artwork is in the range of $7,000 and requires 8" of depth. At least the one I looked at did.

Any great ideas out there???

There are art lifts out there that aren't as crazy expensive and there is also one-way mirror. The later really requires the plasma to be framed in, so care in ventilation is required.

I'm not brainstorming anything else though.

A guy that works for me made a pair of decorative doors and hung them with hidden hinges to cover his in the same scenario. You can get a flush door and add moldings to it to spruce it up. I'ts a low cost alternative, unless you get into exotic woods.

I suppose if you wanted to go really inexpensive you could mount a canvas picture on a single hidden hinge setup. Even cooler for not a lot would be to have a photo on both sides of the image so when you open it up a full 180 degrees it will then be a photo flanking the display.

I'm looking into a Media Mirror. The stuff is crazy. Metal shadow box with temp. controlled fans and unlimited frames.

Panasonic makes decorative picture frames that cover the bezel for about $400. I assume that you could have a frame shop fabricate one for far less $.
