The original members of Primus have re-grouped. If you are not familiar with this band, I will fill you in. The bass player is one of the best there is. His style is along the lines of Geddy Lee, although the music is quiet different. The drummer is also fantastic. His style is along the lines of Neil Peart. The guitar player is very unique. His style is, well, his. The music, IMO, is more of a slapstick comedy, while being extremely technical.

I have purchased the new double dvd from their website. The cost, including shipping, was $21.99. I will give a review after I receive the dvds. It states to have videos & live performances along with interviews.

Hi Zumbo, right you are about Primus. Some of the best bass riffs I've heard. Better than Geddy Lee, but then Geddy hits back with his vocals ! Would be very interesting to hear Primus doing some Rush covers - YYZ perhaps ?
Keep us posted on the DVD review.

On the cd Frizle Fry, they start one song as a Rush song. I can't remember which one, but they do. This is a great cd, but I have not heard it in a while because I had it on tape & the sound quality was not very good, so I never replaced it. I think "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" is the best one. They have the original drummer back, so I am excited to hear the new material! I read, somewhere, that Les Claypools hero was Geddy Lee.

The dvd is here!

The first dvd in the set has music videos of very high quality, and bootleg concert footage of very poor quality. After viewing second time I realized there were more live performances after each section of very good quality!

The second cd is five new songs that sound more like Oyster Head than Primus!

I love it!

Sounds like a good addition for the collection.

I wouldn't say the new stuff is good, unless you liked Oyster Head. But it is cool to see them perform some of their older stuff. No current performances. Extremely LWAF! :glare:

Default primus's 2004 june tour

interesting that you say primus should play YYZ-- their second show they did an encore performance of a song called "YYZ", assuming its rush. im going to see them in st. paul in a week, cant wait. they also did zappa's "Dumb All Over", the entire Frizzle Fry album, and a second set with various songs.

Don't know if this thread is still alive, but I was at the Primus show in Philly last night and they played La Villa Strangiato in its entirety. It was pretty freakin awesome.
