What price are you looking to pay and is 120" the width or the diagonal.

For the $$$ the newest generation of LCD panels will simply rock the world of the 7205, but the 7205 may be a bit brigther than the AE900 or Z4 which may count for something in your decision making process.

But, at 120" diagonal either the Z4 (sanyo) or AE900 (panasonic) will be able to project a solid image in a light controlled theater that will match the 7205, at what may be a fraction of the cost. The AE900 is around $1,800 after rebate from Visual Apex (use link on this site).

Also, read up on various projectors w/reviews at www.projectorcentral.com which has some good info available.

120" diag. requires a brighter projector if there is any ambient light.
The 7205 is a brite pj, so it would work well for you. You cant just rely on specs though, as some manufacturers inflate their numbers. Infocus generally does not however.
The 7205 can be had for around $3500 now.
If not in a rush, I believe the new infocus pj's will be out in the next 3-6 months????
I havent seen the new LCD's (ie panasonic 900) so I cant compare, but they got good reviews.

Sounds like the room has zero light in it which means that while the 7205 would be a bit brighter, it holds no added value over the AE900 which is also a fairly bright unit. In fact, I compared the AE700 to my AE300 and was suprised at how much brighter the new projectors are.

DLP needs to drop a good $1,000 or more IMO. Heck, they should cost the same as LCD to be competitive with current LCD models. The bottom line is that for under $2,000 the AE900 is bright, has great image quality, and bests or equals most DLP projectors in quality.

Let's add - the AE900 includes a 2x zoom lens which allows you to more easily place the projector in the room.

It also includes optical lens shift which means you can put the projector a few inches above the top of the screen to a few inches below the screen and ANYWHERE between and maintain image quality. This is good.

Really - two years ago I would have given a different answer to this and I couldn't afford a DLP back then. Now, LCD is just a step ahead. I have seen both the 7205, 7210, and AE700 - the AE700 I wouldn't call worse - or better. Just abut equal... and a heck of a lot less cash.

An extra grand+ in your pocket means a nice new receiver or a killer subwoofer or a decent screen.
