Default What do you think of this TV?

First off, how do I hyperlink? Couldn't do it for this TV.

Best Buy-

42" Sony Wega Digital Cable Ready Rear-Projection LCD HDTV
Model No. KDF-E42A10

$1,999.99

HD built in w/ DCR
720p/1080i
HDMI- 1
S Video- 1
Component- 3
Composite- 3

I already have a 700-watt Sony receiver/surround sound to go with it and I would use the TV mainly for Xbox 360 and watching ESPN and other sports channels plus DVD's.

The only problem that I have is that I just bought a Sony SDTV 2 years ago. It's a 27" Wega, but of course, it's not HD. Is this a good price for this TV? It's the same at Ultimate Electronics also.

It's a good price for the tv if you looking to buy in your local area . I bet you can find it for alot cheaper by shopping around on different sites . I don't know if this would be an issue but with RP lcd's have what is called the screen door effect when fast moving objects are porjected on the screen the image is not very clear . You may want to go to the store and check the set out for yourself . Good luck .

Hmm...I'll have to check out that screen door effect thing...can I ask them if I can play my Xbox 360 on the TV to see if it does it while playing video games?

If it does, what's the best HDTV to get to play 360 and watch sports for under $2,000?

Hmm, I think that would be more of a response time/convergence issue.
SDE may give a slight blur - But it is mainly seen exactly as it states, imagine putting a piece of screen in front of your eyes and watching the LCD TV.
It is much more of a problem of the past, and much more of a problem in front projection.

Which leads to my next question.
With a 2,000 budget, is front projection possible in your home. Can the room lighting be controlled.
For that budget you could get a 96" screen and a LCD or DLP projector.
If not here is a Optoma 50" LCD RPTV from Visual Apex for 1,500 (keep an eye out for Audioholic member discounts)

Or a 42" Plasma - http://www.visualapex.com/plasma/Pla...&MFR=Panasonic
