Default Pink picture using component

I am looking for some help. I set up a new system this weekend, samsung dlp, samsung dvd, all thru a Denon avr receiver (no satellite yet, it is a cottage). I was using component connections for everything (dvd to receiver, receiver to TV)...but, when playing DVD the picture was pink...very pink. Color adjustments did not work. Son's gamecube was fine. So I unhooked component cables from dvd to receiver and went back to the old red, white and yellow and picture had right color. obviously not an optimum way to hook up after spending the money for quality.

Does anyone know how to correct the pink picture problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!!!

sounds like there is something wrong with the component cables. If you can, try them out on another device to see if they are the problem. see if you can get another set of component cables and hook them up as you did before.

Did you try going direct from DVD to TV? Which Denon receiver?

I do have another set of cables, which I will try and i will also try direct to tv, both make good sense even if they help me "eliminate" possibilities...which it is generally all about.

thanks!
