any opinions on Toshiba 34HF85

I'm searching for a HD ready TV that will fit in my armoire... I have 39" width to work with; this one measures in at 35 & 3/8". The bottom mount speakers make this possible.

I came across this Toshiba, but never really heard anything about them. I spoke with a rep at Crutchfield, who tells me that they've have less warranty issues than the Sonys, and the picture quality is incredible. This is good, but I'd like to hear some actual user reviews if they exist.

I also, thought I read somewhere that a 36" model would be coming out, but couldn't find any info about it. I called Toshiba, directly, but the rep claimed he hadn't heard anything about it. I'm sceptical, because their website is still showing last year's TV models.... I'm unsure how up to date this guy's info is. I'd, obviously rather wait for the larger unit, if it'd fit my armoire.

Any info would be appreciated.

I have this Toshiba TV. It's a little smaller an a year or two older than what you are looking at but it is awesome. It's part of my living room set up and gets plenty of use. We've moved twice with this TV and never had any problems.

The blacks can be a little too black some times so I have to make some on the fly adjustments but it has served me very well.

I demoed sonys as well before purchasing this unit and thought the toshiba just looked better. I think the Toshiba handles standard definition a little better in the 16:9 format as well, better image stretching.
