Okay, so I'm not going to write a small novel this time. I just want to drop a line and say that these speakers, the BIC bookshelves, are NOT hype. They're quite awesome. Somewhat bright (I plan on getting the crossover mod done), but by no means murderous highs. The midrange is very clear. I think it's better than the B&W 705s personally. The bass on these is really special though. I'm really impressed without the output and tightness of the bass on these speakers. Right now I'm blasting Pink Floyd at ear-damaging levels (I actually have hearing protection on, as I can't be any closer than 20 ft to the speakers without it being too loud). They show no signs of distortion or distress. The VU meters on my old Yammie receiver indicate they're seeing 40 watt peaks.
When I first bought these, I was worried that they could handle high SPLs without distortion. NO worries there. At all.
After listening to these, I'm convinced that you can't find a better value for anywhere near the price.

I just got these babies hooked up to my new Pioneer VSX-815 and was pretty blown away for the price. I am having a hard time deciding between the 62SI and 52SI for the surronds, my living room is so small I think the 52SI might be a better option. What do you think???
Go with the 62s. The 52s have a half inch tweeter and don't have the "magic" the 62s have. Besides, these things are dirt-cheap anyway. Since you already like the 62s, just grab another pair.

Yes they are. You can get the BIC bookshelves for 134.49 shipped to anywhere in Canada from X-10. That's in USD of course. I'm not sure what brokerage would on them, but I'm pretty sure X-10 uses FedEx, NOT UPS.

Yeah had them up pretty loud!!! Unreal for the price. Hey Jaxvon I was playing a movie tonite( i only have the two hooked up) and it seemed like I had to turn the volume up quite a bit to get it pretty loud compared to playing a music DVD. Is this normal???
I dunno. It could be the mastering level on the disc, but I suspect that because most of the sound info on a movie is sent to the center channel, your L&R speakers were missing out. I bet once you add the center things should be better.
I'm listening to some jazz right now (Kind of Blue) and it sounds GREAT. I'm still amazed at how loud these things can go, and how good they sound at all levels. The imaging is pretty darn good too. Now all I have to do is make my stands so they're positioned correctly.

How long have you owned them? If you get really bored one evening, take out the woofer - carefully. You'd be amazed how well these little gems are put together. They're built as good or better than my Polk RTi4's. They are much heavier, too.
I bought a pair of DV62 bookshelves in college. I purchased them at a high end audio store in Cleveland, Ohio in 1989. I think I paid $150 for the pair on clearance. They haven't changed much from what I can tell. I did blow out one tweeter during an insane party. I sent the tweeter to BIC, and they shipped out a new one - no questions asked. $5 S/H - how can you go wrong. I think the most amazing part is their warranty. Who has a 7 year warranty in the industry?
The DV62's are still in the family. My younger brother has them in Toledo, and loves them. They sit on 32" self made stands, and look great in his apartment. I even think he uses them when he dj's house parties. He's got a professional mixer, two Gemini tables, and a huge digital Yamaha keyboard. All his sound goes through them, along with a 10" pro sub. Those little guys can take a beating.
