Default LCD Vs. DLP RPHDTV

I'm looking into a new 50" range HDTV. What does everyone think, LCD or DLP. I'm leaning toward DLP, but now the 1080p TVs have started coming out, and I wonder if I should wait 6 months to a year. I was comparing Samsung, Mitsubishi, and Toshibas for DLP, and Sony & Hitachi Cineform for LCD. BUt then I saw Mitsubishi's LCD! What's up with them? They don't even have those TVs on their website yet. Looked good, but not quite as colorful or bright as the Sony next to it. (granted these were 60+" TVs, I'm only looking for 50ish). Does anyone have an educated opinion on these TVs? Regarding hookups, tweeks, picture, etc. Looking for owners, installers, tweekers advice, etc. to give me the run down. Or a push one way or the other. Just another newbie with the same question LCD or DLP?

I just ordered a Sony 50" LCD http://www.abesofmaine.com/viewprodu...d=snkdf50we655. I went with the LCD because it just seemed so much sharper to me than any of the DLP's that I saw.

Also, something to note about the Sony's is that if you want one, you might want to get last year's model. Apparently, Sony decided that they weren't going to put PIP or the memory card slot on this year's model, but last year's has it. The new models come out today from what the salesman told me.

I was able to get the TV online, with shipping and a 4 year parts and labor warranty (including bulb replacement) for cheaper than I could locally. Plus there was no tax.

I like the DLP's a bit better and the Mitshbishi is the best, just slightly ahead of the Samsung IMO. I'd wait for the 1080P myself. Read this thread from a member that just purchased a Samsung 1080P set and compares it to his JVC D-ILA LCD based set.
