ju10503, I am curious about how the digital inputs work on the yamahas.
On the 5250, it has two digital coax and three digital optical inputs. Can all five be used for different devices, or are some of them shared? If they are shared, then for example if DVD/LD has a coax and an optical both hooked up, which one will the receiver use?
On the 5440, it has one digital coax and two digital optical inputs. Are these three independent inputs (I assume they are)?
For both units, are the subwoofer pre-out crossover points user adjustable,, and if not, then what are they set at (hz)?
Hi. Here are the manuals. I have paper ones that will accompany the product along with the all-important remotes:
@copperfox - congrats on the auction win, UPS shows that the item is out for delivery NOW in Warwick. Please leave good feedback and let me know how it worked out. Oh, and enjoy the bubble wrap!

I was hoping to receive it by Friday, but when I just checked ebay, clicked on the tracking number, and it said "Out for delivery" I was flabbergasted. I will let you know when I get it (I'm not even at home right now). Thanks for the lightspeed shipping!
I saw some snipes on the auction I won at the last minute. Snipers are stupid (foolish) because they make the assumption that everyone else is sniping too. If that were the case, the method might work. However, you can just get around it by bidding the highest you are willing to pay and let ebay handle the bidding for you. Will they never learn?

i never used one but i have seen programs that will snipe bids for you on what you want and it will continue to do so until you win the item you want for price you want.
I received the HTR-5250. Packing was pretty good, definitely plenty of tape . One of the feet broke off, but I was able to secure it good enough so that it won't fall off. I will just have to be very careful when moving it around. I cleaned the unit and it seems to be working just fine. The manual and remote are in really good shape too. I'm satisfied.

Great! very cool that it went to someone on these forums as opposed to a complete stranger. i noticed that even your older posts have HTR 5250 in them. so did you already have one, or when you changes it did it apply the change to past posts as well?

If you are referring to my signature, I just updated that. I believe that the way the forum works is that it only saves the body of the posts in its database, but queries the user's current signature whenever a thread page is loaded. So to answer your question, this is my first Yamaha receiver and I just changed my sig two days ago. The forum makes it appear that I've had it for a while by appending my new sig to old posts.
