Walter Duque is a bigger Pink Floyd than I am, and he recommended I get
Roger Waters The Wall - Live in Berlin on DVD. http://movestrong.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Since it was a concert that Walter personally attended on July 21st 1990; I knew it was going to be good.
So I put a big (self-serve) bowl of Halloween candy out on the front porch; I didn't want any listening interruptions.
I have a small 12 x 12 make-shift listening room. It's a place to go listen, when the main set-up in the family room is otherwise occupied.
A Yamaha RXV-1 powers Speaker Company TST3's fronts, PSB center and Altec 75's in the rear. (I told you it was a makeshift set-up)
I had the volume cranked higher than then I ever had it before. So high, that the TST3's that I previously thought lacked bass, were shaking the floor. (no sub, yet)
Any Floyd / Roger Waters fans will really enjoy this DVD. Walter could probably describe it better than I.
I've never seen a bigger stage set-up; it had to be at least 600' long.
A live audience of 250,000(they stopped selling tiks at 250K) and a television audience of 500 million in 52 countries watched this staging at the site of the Berlin Wall. This was a show of historic proportions, with a cast of music and film stars backed by a 100-piece orchestra, the Marching Band of the Combined Soviet Forces in Germany, 150 extras and the East Berlin Rundfunk choir of 100. Along with an all star cast of guests.
I can't wait to watch this again. Thanks Walter!

I've seen this out recently on SACD, as well. I'm gonna have to pick it up, now.

I wonder how that would sound on your main system. Pink Floyd's Pulse is also an incredible concert. It was recommended by some other old guys a while back.

Don't feel bad. It's just happening to you before it happens to me.
I'm not exactly a spring chicken myself but at least I'm not like 50, I just feel like I am.

Alex, I have the Pulse concert too, and agree it's great.
When you get the chance rent Live in Berlin; or find it cheap on ebay, so you'll get the booklet that's inside.
It's unbelievable how vast the stage and the whole set-up is.
They did a really good job matching up every guest with the songs they performed.
Oh , so heading out to pick up more beer is the answer,
Now that you mention it I haven't enjoyed any frosty fake ones since I have been back except for a St. Paulie Girl imitation beer out at dinner the other night. If I had any balls what so ever I would make my g/f pick them up on the way home from work ... but that's just not the case.
