It seems this is a major bug with Windows 7. If you use a program to strip the HDCP codes, like Sly Soft, windows 7 will not boot.

I found all this and there are a lot of other posts.

Thanks for the links.. I have been messing with this all weekend. The good news is x-men origins is now working but transformers revenge of the fallen is still not working. I am at a loss about this for sure.

I think Windows 7 is crap for HTPC.

I also tried out Windows 7 and switched right back to Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

I have a feeling these issues will get fixed soon enough, it's a new OS and there will be updated drivers or software patches out before long that will fix all these problems.

You need to wait for the real version of Windows 7. It's called SP1.

Why am I not surprised?

It seems Microsoft has a lot of trouble getting a good OS going. I figured 7 was just another iteration of windows. It's kinda disappointing, but not surprising.

I'm not downplaying how difficult building an OS is, but still it's just sad to see them continue to fail at their goal.
