Default Tweeter Drops Monster Cable from Retail Stores

Monster Cable Products announced today that Tweeter Home Entertainment Group will be dropping the sale of all Monster products, ending a mutually profitable 20 year relationship. This is contrary to Tweeter's previous announcement release that implies that Monster was replaced by four new vendors because it did not measure up in a comparison of quality, value, profitability, margin, and customer satisfaction. Tweeter was one of most successful retailers under Monster's M4 program.

I hope it was a painful divorce for both!

I just love Un-Sound Advice and Monster (NOT)

Not if BB and CC continue to push their product...heck, they may even sell MORE since those will be the only outlets and generate quite a bit more foot traffic than any Tweeters. (But we can always hope )

Noel Lee states, "With years of Monster training, the sales staff at Tweeter is excited about the brand and are extremely comfortable selling it. This has made Monster one of Tweeter's most profitable categories. I have to believe that the change was very emotional, especially considering the time of year. I only wish that we could have met to work things out."

No. I think the margain had more to do with the profits Mr. Lee, not your training.

Emotional yea I agree, I'd have been jumping up and down in jubilation to sever ties with your company.

Hate is a strong word, but I truly dislike this guy and his forked tongue...if you couldn't tell.

Good for Tweeter. Best Buy and Circuit City should do the same. Monster cable is nothing but snake oil. You are paying for a name, marketing and making Noel Lee a very wealthy man. I don't understand how someone shell out their hard earned money on Monster junk. CC charges 119.00 for 2m (approx 6ft) of HDMI/HDMI cable by Monster. What makes this crap worth $120.00?

Now look at blue jeans cables.com. I purchased 23ft of HDMI/HDMI for $89.50
plus $10.00 shipping and I received a high quality cable w/high quality connectors, and the picture on my Sony 60" LCD is phenominal, and I mean just that. Had I opted for a custom length cable by Monster, it would have cost me $460.00

There is no need to pay the sky high prices that the brick and mortar stores charge, when there is the power of the internet.

Goodnight Gracie..

Default I have since defected to Cobalt and Impact accoustics.

I used to use monster all the time. But after really getting into home theater, I heard so many experts talk about how companies like Audioquest and Monster are "SnakeOil" salesman.

My two favorite brands these days are Cobalt Cable and Impact acoustics...these are two companies whose cables just seem to work so well.
