Enter to Win: Rives Audio Test CD 2

I would have to say that the room accounts for about 35% of my set up where as speakers and components would make up about 55% and the rest is accesories for the room. I haven't added much in the way of treatment other that furniture but am looking to do some minor treatments to take care of...

    Blaupunkt Subs

That commercial is great! I however don't like the blauplunkt stuff it really lacks in preformance.

Maxnet? 50" plasma for a "novice" tv guy

I agree with Spiffyfast totally. Those three companies are the best for the money with the highest hour rating of any out there. I just had a meeting with my LG rep yesterday stating that the LG's are getting 60,000Hrs before half brightness. Another display that is right up there is Fujitsu.

Enter to Win: FREE DVIGear 2m SHR HDMI or DVI Cable!

Being a custom installer I look for the new cable with the best preformance first. Then look at the price, design, and gaurenteed performance rating. It doesn't hurt if the cable is finished really nice with cloth ducting or available in diffrent colors either. MY STUFF: Denon avr-1082...

Win an Audio Rack from Red Couch Design!

This stand looks nice, and I like the layout of the shelving. It looks solid with enough space for venting. I just wonder if the wire management will handle some 10 gauge twisted wire or not.

    Down-firing vs. Front-firing sub

I have hard wood floors and a down fireing sub, and have found that it works quite well if you place a small chunk of carpet under the sub it takes care of the reflections. It also adds back the clarity you lose from haveing the sound bounce directly off of the hardwood. MY STUFF: Denon...

    Denon AVR-4806

If everything is functioning correctly and you are happy with the 3805 I don't see and reason that you would have to upgrade. Now, if you were moving to a larger room or adding a HDTV or switching to some power hungary speakers then you might wnat to upgrade to take advantage of the extra video...

    B&W vs. Klipsch

I would have to agree with RLA about the KLipsch. I have had my Klipsch powered by three different Denon AVR models including the 1805, 2801, and presently with a 1082/3802. I have found that the Klipsch match very well with the Denon's and they take what ever you can toss at them. Now, not to...

    Nad Reset

Depending on what model of NAD you have you can reset them back to factory settings. It should be in your manual, but if it is not the newer models use the delay and memory buttons on the front of the unit. MY STUFF: Denon AVR-1082 NAD T 773 Denon 910 DVD Denon 1000 DVD Klipsch...

Newbie! Want to build system.. long-ish post!!

First off Might I suggest that neither one of you go out and purchase something before hearing what you want to purchase if at all possible. Second, make sure the items you want to purchase fit well with the possiblity of your future upgrades and purchases so that you are not buying multiples...

    Which Receiver To Buy??

I am pretty sure that the NAD T763 or T753 are in that price range and are fully capable and designed to pull those kind of loads. they aren't real flashy AVR's, but man are they precise. The Denon AVR-2106 is in that price range and could possibly do what you are looking for. It really is...

    Pre-Pro under $2000

If you are looking just for a reciever I am currently demoing a NAD T773 AVR, and am pushing a full Klipsch surround setup. My Klipsch have never sounded better. the good thing about this amp is you get a whole lot of customizable options without the really big price tag of other top of the...

    Brand preference?

I have had equipment from most of those brands. I would have to lean towards the Denon stuff, but that is just because I have been very happy with all that I have had. That said I will actually be changing over to NAD or some Sunfire seperates or if I can get my hands on a demo piece of Mark...

Yeah, I could see purchasing all of that if you were a collector, and want to start a museum or add to a smaller collection of your own

    favorite stereo preamp?

I saw that NAD was suggested, and I would have to second that. I have the T773 av reciver that I am demoing right now and if all of their equipment is comperable to this then they would be on the short list. Also, I would like to suggest Theta Digital, Lexicon, or any of the Adcom stuff. All...

    New HT equipment questions?

Definately jump up to the referance line in Klipsch. They kind of cheapened the Synergy line for the mass consumer market. However. I have found that the RF-10 through 35 set of speakers are comperable to the old school Synergy lineup. If you buy a Klipsch sub go for one of the RSW subs over...

    Rear Surround Speakers

Yeah the bi/dipoles add a lot of sound to the rear channels. I had monopoles for years, and then had to upgrade my rears so I went with a true surround speaker. It doubled the surround effect. However, they can also detract from the sound if not placed and calibrated with the reciever...

    Comparing 3 receivers

I think that I would try to get a Denon AVR-1905 or 1906. They both are 7.1 capable, have around 80W @ 8ohms, and both offer video upconversion and either multi room use or multisource. Both are close to your price range and can probably be had for right at or below your range. I would...

Who makes that for the consumer anyway? I'd be happy with a solid seperates setup

Why buy bose when you can buy Anthony Gallo?

Yeah, the Anthony Gallo's are nice, but they have limited usage and you have to buy everything seperate. I.e. the different stands, wire management, even the stupid little isolator ring so the speakers don't roll off of the table or shelf you put them on. Besides that they don't have much...
