I'd suggest Pioneer floor standers from Best Buys. These were designed by Andrew Jones. They sound very neutral. (I love them. I have two pairs of those and the center channel). It means that if you compare them in the store to what ever is next to them, you may think they are not great...

I love my setup. The key in general: to listen for awhile (to any speaker) and see how they sound an hour later. Most of the "competition" in BB are pretty bright so first impression may change after a longer session. These speakers are definitely neutral sounding. Not everyone's cop of tea.

I bought 2 pairs of the towers, and a center. I love the "neutral" sound of these speakers. Bought them at BB. You may feel otherwise though. Recommended.

Many many years ago I bought 1 of the first run of the stf 3 that was tuned to 18Hz. Right before I moved cross country I was stupid enough to sell it. Boy, Dr Hsu spends 2 years on this thing and it "sounds" like it belongs in a retail store, and not really a competition to the other...

I have both in the house. There is no comparison. 2 very different animals. If the velo is a GTI, the stf2 is a ferrari. That is how much better the Hsu sub is. I know many on these forums want you to believe that HSU subs are "pretty good" compared to another brand, but one listen will tell...
