.774 is a bit louder. I got this line volume box with remote that is used to add remotes to vintage receivers. It’s like a pass through thing

.774, cbm 170se, What I’ve been doing is setting the volume fairly hi on the pre then using a remote volume box so I can have a remote then setting the amp gain around 2 o’clock or sometime as low as 12 noon

Just reviving this...I bought the crown then used it for awhile the put the whole rig in storage until last December. I think it’s ok but I have a hard time figuring out what volume level to match the preamp with. It has a tendency to be very loud but not in a smooth way, like it’s too much...

Yeah I like Revel. I guess I should save my $$ for those. Used to work close to the Harmon store in manhattan. They had all the Revels and Mark Levinson stuff in the basement. Was a fun place to waste some time during lunch

Looking to upgrade from my Ascend Acoustics CBM-170s. Don’t have the space for much bigger. Also not looking for a lateral or just a little better or different. Looking for much better, price below $1k. Any suggestions?

I just purchased a Crown LKi800, as per recommendation of some members here. I've got an older Harman PA2500 preamp hooked up to it, and Ascend Acoustics CBM 180 speakers. Just wondering about the green lights that come on, the manual says its because "input signal exceeds –40 dBu". It seems...

I had high hopes for the HK PA 2400 from eBay but it turned out to be a lemon. I'm a fan of Harman and JBL (Samsung?) so I think I'll probably go for the crown

Hmm... So what would be the big difference btwn getting a crown XLi-800 or the Emotiva Basx A300 other than size & looks and approx $200 difference? Power is power, no? (im not an electronics person btw)

What about the Behringer KM750? Any good? I really liked way the NAD sounded, but don't want to take a chance on another used one. Would like something that will last for a few years.
