Check out Rythmik. Great performance for the money.

    How to tune my room

You will always have variations in bass response in pretty much any room. If you don't listen far off left, don't sweat it. Positioning of the listening seat is critical. If you are at 1/2 of the room length from the front wall to your head, you'll have wild swings in response. Ideally you...

    Speaker Advice

Ascends are a great solution for the price (and even some higher). Good imaging, good tonal balance, but will rock when you want them to. I recommend Rythmik all the time. I can attest that the Ascend/Rythmik combo is a great place to be with plenty of output capability.

    Speaker Decision Time

Dyns like a lot of power and work well with something biased heavily into Class A. You want something with very good damping and nothing that is even the slightest bit 'forward' sounding IMO. The Revel's are a lot more forgiving of the amp.

Audyssey app 3db dip below 20hz

The sub looks fine though a bit hot compared with the rest of the spectrum. Most guys would kill to have what you have.

Need your advice regarding my system setup , room acoustics and bass management

I would suggest sub and small. Now, that depends on which way you can smooth the bass better pending speaker and sub positioning options. The sub/sat setup gives you a ton of options to play with regarding phase, xover points, doubling lower frequencies, etc.

    Front Screen Wall Build

I prefer the bass control in the corners as thick as you can get it. Drapes will be fine to mask it. Don't forget to do the whole front wall too at least 2" thick.

    Massive dip from 40-80 he

Seat position appears to be the issue. If you can't move it, then you need to try to address the wall behind you to minimize the length modes. Best thing to do though is not sit in them. Looks like the peak below the dip is about 1/2 the frequency so it's looking like the length mode for sure.

    Surround speakers matching to L/C/R

I would match the LCR. Then match the side and rear surrounds. If you can do all 7, that's fine but not as critical. Just don't make them drastically different. Just my opinion.

Building a home setup for around $2000...your thoughts welcome!

You'll likely need to get some sort of balancing transformer. The signal strength and impedance are different from pro to consumer, not just the connector itself. Bryan

    Help with my room

Treating the inside of a room with absorbers will not stop sound transmission to another adjoining room. That simply takes mass, decoupling, addressing HVAC issues, solid core doors, etc. Bryan

    Help With Speaker Positioning

The more front position will allow a wider dispersion for more seating as long as you can time align the center channel to compensate for it being back farther. Should be able to do this in your processor. Bryan

    Treatment Design Support Needed

The curtain with the additional MLV in it can help some as previously stated with some of the bass energy by being a limp membrane. The downside is that this now completely kills the rear portion of the side walls and the 'rear wall' in terms of allowing a more diffuse, non-directional surround...

    noob with some questions epi/outlaw/nad/itc2

If purely for 2 channel, I would just use 1 pair of speakers then to avoid interactions and cancellations between the pairs. Bryan

    noob with some questions epi/outlaw/nad/itc2

I would definitely recommend doing just that. It will give you a lot more flexibility if you really want to run 2 pair of speakers. Are you trying to get a pseudo-surround effect or are you just wanting to run 2 stereo pair (like you are now) but with more flexibility? Bryan

    Wii install question

Guess I'm confused. If you already have an IR/RF repeater system running to the closet, why can't you just stick an emitter from that onto the Wii bar? Bryan

    Apartment setup help!

If you could move the rack away from the speakers that would help. 38% means if you measured the room front to back and say it was 10 feet. The distance from the wall behind your head to your seated ear positoin would be 38% of that length, or 3.8 feet. This is just a general rule of...

Acoustic Treatments, 2" inches or 4" inches thickness?

If you're going to use a frame on the rear, just staple some muslin on the front of the frame where you'll be placing the absorption. Then when you wrap it, it's a nice clean look on the rear and the wood is still exposed for easy mounting. As for the previous discusson on acoustic...

    Surround sound speaker placement.

The best thing you could do to improve the overall experience is pull the seating forward. That will let you do rear wall mounting for a more realistic experience. It will also get you out of the wall boundary zone where bass builds up terribly and tends to bloat things and mask dialog. Bryan
