I'm debating on pulling the trigger on the 820.2 or going all in with the A45 BS (which is supposed to be very close to their Reference 9k offering - same drivers, different box). I really shouldn't be shopping for more speakers, but I'm super curious to hear the Canton ceramic tweeter and see...

Doesn't the A45 basically use the same drivers (and tweeter) as the Reference k series, in a different enclosure? I think the tweeter is probably the same (or better) than the Vento 820.2, which is already apparently better than the one used in the 9.2 dc?!

Wow! How did you manage to find the 580's at $518 shipped?! Also, how would you compare the 580 to the 590? Could anything be better in this price range?

Any chance you would know if bass management is disabled in "pure direct" mode? I would assume so, but some forum digging found that some say yes and others say no.

Thanks for the advice guys. Sounds like the DAC section in the Z9 may rival the Stoner DAC. I'm wondering if I could improve things by adding something like this between the PC and receiver though...

Anyone know for sure what the specified impedance on the vs05's are? I'm getting a new receiver that needs to be set differently for 6ohm loads.

No EQ with either one. Zieglj turned me on to enjoy listening to non-EQ'd sources with good speakers. Perhaps I can be more specific about my comparisons: 1. The music (specifically classical) in my impala sounds enveloping and effortless. Piano, strings, vocals are soft and soothing...

Delco, now that sounds like a good speaker company...I think they make decent spark plugs as well :rolleyes:
