    Vintage electronics repair.

I used to know someone real good that moved to Vermont. Given, it's now MA, but there wasn't anything he couldn't do. Problem is he changed his cell number and never told anyone >_<

New Marantz SR6010 and SR7010 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X AV Receivers!

I love this receiver…almost bought into the Onkyo when I started reading about the Marantz. The best of both worlds with tons of both HDMI and analog inputs. I have owned two onkyos in the past and have never gone wrong but I figured I might check out the alternatives to see what else is out...

The Dolby Atmos Home Theater Paradox

I haven't had the chance to play with Atmos yet. One of these days I will be able to, and when I do....I think my roof is going to have some new holes cut into it...so I hope I do it right the first time ^_^

Enter to Win a Set of DD Audio DXB-03 On-Ear Headphones

Very nice! 1) Not familiar with the brand, but to win me over, the headphones have to be warm (without being over-bassy) and have a solid range to them. I want to be able to listen to the acoustics of a track and really pick up on every detail with crisp/clean sound that isn't exhausting. 2)...

    Sennheiser Momentum Over-Ear Headphones Review

I was in a deep search for some good headphones First I thought, maybe the beats, but then I didn't want to look like one of the poser kids walking around with headphones on that are more about design than they are function. I started to read some reviews, and the Bose sounded like a good option...

Klipsch RF-7 II Floorstanding Speaker First Look

Thuuuuuper awesome speakers! (sorry for the pun, but these things are amazing) I wanted to write about these MONTHS ago but never got around to it. Now a lot of time has gone but, but the info is still worth sharing. We had first bought speakers from a company who's name began with a "b" for...

Yamaha Dolby Atmos AVENTAGE A/V Receivers Preview

Pumped pumped and pumped I am super pumped about some of the new receivers. I have a slightly older RX-A1010 and have been needing to replace that with something a little more powerful and feature-wise and something more future proofed. I've had a few tabs open on my screen waiting for them to...

    Multi room music

Ya, I'd go with a wireless solution as it would make it much easier for speaker placement and no cables outside of power or in-ceiling powered (tapped).

sennheiser hd 800 or ath-w3000 anv?

I am a big fan of Sennheiser for phones. You can mark me down as voting for that one. Specs between the two, you could do better with audio-technica but it will cost you more.

Wireless replacement for Sony MDR-7506 headphones

Klipsch makes a good wireless set of phones I believe. Sennheiser is always (usually) a good route as well...but you have to keep in mind that cost = quality in some of their lines.

    Multi room music

I wouldn't mind a WifI network of speakers that you can come out of a zone in your receiver to a hub that then controls all the speakers in the house via wifi and hopefully allows you to adjust for delay due to distance. In-ceiling speakers would be preferred by I wouldn't mind having to plug in...

Netflix Streaming Does 5.1 Surround Sound with Dolby Digital Plus on PS3!

I can't find it in me to stream movies yet. Until the bandwidth is just a tad better and they also stream 7.1+ format options as well, I prefer BluRay all the way. The image is much nicer. Don't get me wrong though...I have Netflix and the quality is great....it's just that BluRay still stomps...

    Winamp being discontinued. Booo!

Wow, now there is a name you have hear for many years now. I am surprised to see it go...but then again as of late I haven't heard anyone talk about it so maybe VLC is just dominating that hard now when it comes to first-choice media players. I know I switched a long time ago to VLC (and media...

A/v receiver died & time to replace, need advise..

I have heard of some of the new Onkyos failing, but the cheaper lines because their boards are mass printed. You have to spend more to get a good receiver. Like Yamaha's Avantage line :D I love em! A friend of mine snagged a Onkyo though for about $250 on sale earlier in the year. He had it...

The VIZIO M801d-A3 80: 80 inches of LED goodness for $4k

Super Super Super Wow We had been looking for a TV to for-fill our needs for awhile now but the prices were just far too high. We had our eyes on another brand who makes an 80 and 90 inch TV (I won't mention the brand out of respect to Vizio) but other brand's quality wasn't there in my...
