Nothing went whizzing by me, I know what you are saying, an accurate speaker is accurate, blah,blah blah. I'm talking about listener bias and that no matter how accurate the speaker, myself and the trumpet player may have our own opinions on what is, and what is not accurate.

There might not be an audible difference between the two and we're probably splitting hairs. I'd go with 100 for the machismo and probably will.

I've hung out at quite a few studios/sound rooms, I guess I never really felt that any of them had monitors that really made me go "wow!". We all have tainted ears, I might buy speakers that have an accurate guitar sound, because I'm a guitar player and I know what that sounds like to me...

I did some extensive listening to the PM8004 and loved it. I have an old 1970s 2215B (15 watts, and it cooks nicely) that still serves me very well. I really love the Marantz sound and wish I could afford their reference line....the only reason I didn't get the 8004 is because I'm thinking more...

On a side note.....I've been looking at building a 2 channel system with a pair of XPA-100s, anyone want to chime in, I hear nothing but great things. I'd probably match them to Somgtower RTs.
