    Surge protector for Onkyo receiver

The only reason I have hdmi standby on is for the wife. In order for her to get audio we have to keep the receiver plugged in. I don't like how the receiver gets hot on standby mode so I unplug after each use. Where it's positioned makes it a pain in the arse to constantly unplug so if I can...

    Surge protector for Onkyo receiver

I've been told that my svs subwoofer and emotiva amplifier should be directly plugged into the wall and not into a surge protector. What about my Onkyo TX-NR709 receiver? Can I plug it into a surge protector? The reason I want to is I hate having to plug and unplug it from the wall. I...

    SVS SB 12 NSD

I have one SVS pc-13 ultra sub on my first floor and purchased the rubber feet from SVS. It truly helped with noise reduction in my basement. Before the feet it sounded like my basement ceiling/lighting was going to explode. Now it sounds more tolerable. :)

I've had the onkyo tx-nr709 receiver now for over a year. Ever since my house lost power the receiver has a orange light where it says HDMI THRU on the receiver and also it says hdmi on the screen(this is when it's off). Today I noticed that even though the receiver has been off for over 24...

    Mixing def tech's with MartinLogan

I actually had a similar set up. 3 ML in the front and two def tech for the rears. You definitely want to match and are doing so. Im not sure if this will affect your purchase but I ended up turning the def techs and getting MLs for the rear. I think the MLs can handle higher volume better...

    Emotiva sale

Jumping in on this post late...but hey great purchase with the XPA-5. I went from a AVR powering my fronts/surrounds(5 speakers) to returning that after following advice on here and getting a XPA-5 to power everything. You def. notice a more "livening" affect with the XPA-5 even at low...

    Need advice...custom 5.1 system

Would it be possible to get a less expensive amp for my set up? Dumb question of the subwoofers I'm considering this external amp has nothing to do with it, correct? assuming so since I plug the subwoofer into the outlet directly. How about this external amp? Onkyo Accessory Amplifier - M282B
