    Stop Me if I'm Wrong

Thanks all for the quick and informative responses. I'm going to pull the trigger, but with an added 3 year warranty just in case I have an early HDMI issue. I can't wait!!

    Stop Me if I'm Wrong

I was a big fan of Audessey, which the Onkyo has. The improved feature set I'm talking about is basically a more modern version (wifi connectivity, bluetooth, more built in audio streaming apps, etc.) I'm not so concerned about features. It's nice. Ultimately, when I dim the lights and crank...

    Stop Me if I'm Wrong

Alright, Per my previous thread, I'm replacing a Denon 2312 that I loved. I'm about to pull the trigger on a Onkyo TX-NR727 for $324 (Refurb) Am I going to have any regrets about the model (I'm not worried about refurb - I know the risks)? Is the sound quality going to be on par with the...

    Denon 2312 Finally Died

I'm in Texas. The Issue is both warranty and age. They don't have or make the HDMI board anymore. I called a few of the Texas Denon repair facilities directly too. No one was even willing to take the unit. 2012 is basically an antique apparently

Now that was mean :). I called but no luck due to being out of warranty. Thanks for the idea though.

    Denon 2312 Finally Died

Because I'm a sucker, I'm looking at a Denon 2113 CI. A4L has a few in stock. They're refurbs, but I have had pretty good luck with that (or getting them fixed if they fail fast). The biggest downsides fot he 21XX vs. the 23XX look to be that there is only 1 sub port and 95 W/channel on the...

    Denon 2312 Finally Died

All, I'm looking for some pointers to get something that has sound quality and features similar to my old, trusty 2312. It gave me nearly 4 good years before a storm fried the HDMI board. Still powers on fine and can even do networked music, but no go on any HDMI in or out. I loved this...

Thanks! You saved me money and disappointment.

    Clear Rear Projection

I recently visited a museum that used clear glass projector screens mounted on the ceiling with a short throw projector behind them and am now obsessed. I really want this for my media room, but don't even know where to begin. Is there a special projector? I'm assuming it's special glass...

    Anyone Heard of Pyle Subs

I've never heard of the Pyle brand of subs. Does anyone have any data or opinions on a PDSB15A (15" 250 W Ported). It's listed on sale for $150 right now and that just sounds too good to be true for a 15" sub. Someone keep me from spending money!! Keep in mind that I own an EMP 1010i that...

Record Player - Do I REALLY care?

Thanks guys. It's just a nostalgia thing. It's only 10 records, but I want to play them. I'm hoping for a solution between 50-100 bucks that I can plug into my Denon 2312 AVR. While I don't want to add any new hissing or popping to the soundstream, I'm sure anything available today is better...

Anyone having issues with Netflix streaming?

I've noticed the same issue, but on the PS3 (which supposedly can decode DD+ to bitstream). Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't (even on the same show, movie, or episode). It doesn't reliably handle DD+. I wish I had a fix for you, but after working with both netflix and Sony, no one...

Record Player - Do I REALLY care?

For Christmas, my dad gave me some old records that I used to love as a kid, but I don't own a record player. I want to buy one and am seriously considering some low end options with analog outputs. Do I REALLY care or need anything more than that?

    EMP Tek 1010i question

I actually sent my first 1010i back for a replacement because I thought something was wrong with it. The box's face wasn't completely sealed so heavy loads made some funny wheezing noises. The replacement had the same issue and rattled after a month. That being said, it took me about and hour...

PS3 connected to Yamaha RX-V2600e NO PICTURE OR SOUND!

Cos is starting up the right track. The PS3 can do some funny things when the display (or the path to it) is changed. Do you have a cable box, computer, or anything else you can plug into the receiver to ensure that it's not the problem?

Netflix speech and dialogue audio too quiet; everything else too loud

Well Netflix suddenly works in 5.1. I turned off dynamic range control on the PS3 and tried a movie and it sounded great, but then I turned dynamic range control back on and the movie still sounded great. (Was watching Drive) J, can you give it a try? I'm wondering if Netflix fixed their...

Netflix speech and dialogue audio too quiet; everything else too loud

I'm running the Netflix app on my PS3 and connecting to my Denon 2312 via HDMI. It kills me that the receiver recognizes that its getting dolby from the PS3, but only seems to output the front mains.

Netflix speech and dialogue audio too quiet; everything else too loud

Found the link where I read about the "fat" vs. "slim" PS3 and their respective DD+ capabilities. It may be junk, but it's all I have to go on. Netflix streaming 5.1, DD+ & "fat" PS3s | Steve Hoffman Music Forums Perhaps it's time i invest in a dedicated smart blue-ray player :(
