Welcome to.the forums, if I were you id buy used . A decent setup.of receiver and 2 bookshelves can.be found on Craigslist for your price range. The older Yamaha receivers can be found on Craigslist for dirt cheap, find you a pair of klipsch bookshelves and there you have it on your price...

Great dicisision , I have a pair of EMP e5ti and I love them . I used them for music and they sound great . Have you looked into the outriggers that EMP sells for the towers ? That can help in the future so that the kids don't knock them over.
